🌍 “Africa remains committed to multilateralism in Geneva” In a recent interview with Geneva Solutions, Professor Delidji Eric Degila, International Relations scholar at the Geneva Graduate Institute, highlighted Africa’s growing influence in the multilateral arena.With 54 member states, the African Group is one of the UN’s largest regional blocs. In Geneva, its coordinated diplomacy has propelled African leaders to head the WHO, WTO, and ILO, while also advancing African priorities on human rights, trade, health, and development.Professor Degila underscores how the bloc’s strength lies in unity and pan-African solidarity, whether supporting electoral strategies, creating institutional innovations like the Universal Periodic Review, or amplifying African agency in global debates.
